The Shawna’s House family is a village that supports and advocates for the well-being and healthy social development of youth and young adults in our communities. We are an all-inclusive mentor network that’s committed to serving youth between the ages of 13-18 without regard to age, race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, and or social status.
Our Vision
Shawna's House Teen Chat Room, our pioneer mentor program was designed to promote the importance of self-expression and social engagement for our youth. Through this program, we provide a safe and accepting environment that values youth voices. Under the guidance of positive adult mentors, they are able to interact and have appropriate and respectful dialogue with peers without the fear of judgment. We engage them with social activities that build self-confidence and respect and that enable them to recognize their personal value and the positive impact that they can have on their community.

While our Teen Chat Room program promotes the value of positive social engagement and provides safe spaces for their voices to be heard, our Financial Literacy program focuses on providing young people with access to essential financial education and resources. We believe that these programs give our youth opportunities and experiences that enable them to develop into caring, well-informed, and responsible adults. Our ultimate mission is to be a trustworthy village that our youth can rely on to receive valuable resources and encouragement along the way. We are dedicated to helping our youth evolve and make positive impacts within their personal lives and in their communities.

We believe that our teens deserve access to the essential elements of financial literacy and we are dedicated to being a source to provide that. When young people have a basic understanding of finances, they are more likely to grow into financially responsible adults and wise consumers, which ultimately has a great impact on the future of our communities.
